If I build it... redux

Wow, thanks for all the feedback on my last post about video cards!

I think I've found what I want... a BFG Tech 7950GT. I've put a link to the details below under "upgrading" :)

Yes, I'm FINALLY upgrading! I'm buying the parts TODAY. I'd hoped the company would pay for it, but it looks like I'll have to eat the cost, at least for the time being. My system's in such bad shape, I can barely work (and playing WoW is simply an exercise in futility). Everything's always crashing, and this can't be good for my state of mind. I actually have some time next weekend to rebuild this thing (time is another issue's that been holding me back from upgrading).

I use this system for work every day (mostly word processing, some graphics, but nothing major)... and the occasional game of WoW. So I'm not buying "best," I'm buying "best for the buck." My needs really aren't all that great, honestly.

Here's what I'm UPGRADING:

MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Everybody and their brother is recommending this one. Whom am I to argue?

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
This is also highly recommended-- three-time winner of customer choice award in processors from newegg.

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA804 - Retail
Wow, it's really cheap with the $45 rebate. But folks seem to like it.

BFG Tech BFGR7950256GTOCE GeForce 7950GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 OC HDCP Video Card - Retail
It's a little more than I'd wanted to spend, but it seems to provide the best "bang for the buck." I've never bought BFG before, but it looks solid.

Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Just for my OS and (most) proggies. I have a couple seagate ATAs, but I thought it would be nice to start this new system's OS on a SATA.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional With SP2B 1 Pack - OEM
Yup, I'm finally giving up the WIN2KPRO ghost.

So, $675 for a fairly sizable upgrade. Not bad, not bad at all.

Here's what I'm REUSING:

LIAN LI PC-61 USB Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower
It's just awesome, what can I say. :) Though I would like to replace the REALLY LOUD fan... maybe I'll do that.

ENERMAX Noisetaker II EG495P-VE ATX12V 485W Power Supply 115/230 V - Retail
I'll need to replace this when I switch to SLI, but for now, it should do fine.

Plextor Plexwriter 40x12x40, black bezel
It's ancient, but it still goes!

SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe and Software Black IDE Model SH-S182M/BEBM - OEM
Again, nothing to write home about. I'll eventually move to SATA but this will do for now.

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum Sound
Truly the spawn of Satan. If it doesn't place nice with this system, I'll use onboard for the time being.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3320620A 320GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM
For my data. Again, I'll upgrade to SATA eventually, but I'm not in any real rush.

What do you think? Have I made some awful mistake or forgotten something terribly important?

Hee, thanks for your help :)
