Well, my old reliable Canon S50 finally died on me a couple of weekends ago. The shutter button had been delaying for awhile, but at Epcot, the lens refused to retract or extend fully. It was bound to happen sometime.

(Mine was actually black. Pretend this one is black.)

What a great effing camera that was. Farewell, dear S50. You served me well.

It would have taken $140 to fix it. Not too terrible all things considered... but Paul and I had been talking about getting something smaller, anyway. So when Canon offered to replace it with an SD550 for $175, I was all over it.

(I expect that his will be "champagne." Pretend this one is beige.)

So, Paul has a new camera. I'm hoping he'll let me borrow it, once he gets it (it's on backorder).

As for me, I just got my new S3 today from Amazon.

(It's really more gun metal grey than black. Honest. Pretend this one is gun metal grey.)

It's more camera than I need, and it's too big to take everywhere... but OMG CAMERAGASM.

I should receive my memory cards early next week. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying my camera the hard way... five photos at a time (or video in three second increments).

Expect more photos from me in the days and weeks to come :)

I'm feeling all kinds of: omgcameragasmtastic

Do tell how the S3 IS works out. I rejected it at first because of the SD card but Im a bit more open now.

My camera's an SD600. It's so sleek and I love it.

You know if you get people used to pretending things are different colors than they are you may end racial tension in our lifetime. You are so brilliant.
