What are the odds?
I went to buy halibut for the first time, and this was posted in the window. The Universe conspires (to feed me fish!) : )

Edit: Wow, where's all the Verizon blahblah? Is this because I've let my vzwpix.com "account" go inactive? Hm. I'll reactivate it and see...

We're having a similar problem actually. We're having fish pushed down our throat as well...!
How bizarre.

Fish

No, even worse ...that's twenty pounds per pound. Dollars would be about $35 per pound. Or thereabouts. For halibut.

Re: Fish

20 pounds per pound? Where was that fish? In the palace? Geessss!*shakes head* insane...

Roomie brings home fish for free when ever there's too much for the line to handle!

Re: Fish

Hee. It was $20/pound, not £20/pound :)

Still, pretty expensive. But it was flown in from the Pacific Northwest alllllllllllll the way across the country.

Damned good fish, too. Halibut's absolutely delicious (as I've discovered) :)

Re: Fish

Ok, now you've really got me! That's what I said at first and you 'corrected' that!*laughs*(looks up at comments)*laughs more*

Want to hear something sick? I used to fish and catch halibut for free! I grew up eating it, caught the dinner and had the sibs clean it cause that part made me ill. Mom used to send me out to Huntington twice a month because I was the only one they seemed to like enough to come home with. Caught a baracuda a couple times too, but you have to cut the line and let them go, They're Mean! And they have Teeth!

Halibut is one of the very few fish I eat anymore, I don't like that oily taste most fish has. If you want to try something Really Good, try shark. It's like a steak, only 'fishyish'. Has that good firmness of a steak and the light flavor of any white meated fish. Yummie! And it's really good grilled if you have a BBQ.

Yes, it was more expensive than I'd expected... but hey-- we only had a little over half a pound between the two of us. Very worth it! :D
