I've had this stupid flu/cold thing since Friday... Friday it was in my stomach, but I worked all day and performed OK. Saturday morning, it was in my throat-- it felt like brimstone. I couldn't swallow. I hadn't felt that bad since I had strep! Still, the show must go on, and it did. I was pleased to discover the next day that the director didn't even catch on that I was sick.
The next day, I felt much better. We had a matinee, strike (where we completely dismantle the set and clean the theatre) and a cast party. I didn't drink much, but I worked very hard at strike, and had a few smokes at the cast party (I know, for shame). So I got The Itis, part deux. This time, the whole nine yards-- sneezing, coughing, stuffy head, chills, ick. I took a half day on Monday to "get stuff done," I ended up attending the staff meeting, then sleeping the rest of the day (and then attending a rehearsal for The Vagina Monologues).
Feeling quite a bit better today, we'll see how it goes.
I was actually going to take some DayQuil today... but the box we bought last night expired two months ago! I'll have to talk to someone at CVS about that.
The cast party was nice-- it was out at Ron's place, about twenty minutes out of town on Lake Santa Fe. I got a narcissus :) Oh, and wine.
I wish I'd been able to get the gift I'd originally hoped to get for Loren, but oh well. I ended up getting her The Hunger, and creating a new cover for it with her photo as same. "Nothing human eats forever." Clever, maybe, but I wish I'd had more time. Well, it was my first gift exchange, so I didn't know what to expect... but she deserves lots of love and happy things, and I feel I came up a bit short. Ah, well. Time, if I only had more of ye...
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin', into the future...
Busy few weeks to come... Saturday, we get the baby. Well, we call her "the baby," but she's got to be two now. She belongs to friends of ours. We'll be taking care of her while her parents are overseas for a week. Rather than baby-proof the house, we'll just take care of her at her home. It's only five minutes away.
Meanwhile, Paul's juggling two full-time classes on top of his job (his classes have six-week semesters, so one class is considered "full-time"). I somehow agreed to do the PR and posters for the two VDay events on top of MY job, and I go to KoLBaltimore next Friday.
I whipped up a poster for the benefit concert yesterday. It looks pretty good, I think-- especially considering I wasn't even planning on doing a poster for that, and I was sick as a dog.
Somewhere, somehow, I NEED to get a cut and color. I guess I'll fit it in sometime.
So that's the state of me, I guess.
I thought I had more to write about... I probably did, actually. I'll have to get to it another time, though. There's work to be done!
Hope you all are happy, healthy and enjoying every moment :)
