Wait, no, that's not right at all.
Zack's mom is back in town. She hitchhiked her way
This, by the way, is the same mom who kidnapped Zack a few years back. She's been appearing and disappearing since (never in person, though; only in phone calls). She's been admitted to hospitals and shelters more than once. Much of our news comes from the man she dated a year ago.
Paul says she seems to be coherent, and is probably taking her meds. I wonder what the last few years must look like to her, in her moments of clarity.
She'll be here in an hour or two. For all I know, she could be staying here tonight. Friends' kid is coming by, too (he's got several hours to kill between classes and wrestling, and we're a block away from the school). Not sure what we'll do with him.
The situation is freaking me out on many levels. But this isn't about me; it's all about Zack and his mom, and I'm glad they're reconnecting, on whatever level. Knowing this doesn't stop my body from pumping out adrenaline, though.
Paul just called me to tell me how grateful he is that I'm handling this with such kindness and open-mindedness, and seeing her as Zack's mom and not his ex-wife. He's still got freakishly good timing, that Paul.
I would like to take a vacation now please. Drugs might be helpful too. Why does everything happen all at once?
