Mac purchase help please
Help!

Paul's getting a notebook for school, and he wants a mac.

The question is this: macbook or ibook G4?

This site:
http://www.musicstudiosales.com/pd_apple_powermac_g5.cfm
has the new 2.0 Ghz macbooks for $899, which is just crazy.

Thoughts? Please?

I'm feeling all kinds of: macdaddy

computer bling

I'd go for the MacBook Pro, 17", 2GB RAM. other goodies optional.

All else being equal, I'd pass on anything G4 these days.

I got my MacBook Pro about a month ago and I can't speak highly enough of it... Not the same as the MacBooks but we're gonna be buying Jen one of those shortly... Everything I've heard so far has been positive.

Beware of the site

Beware of musicstudiosales.com. Toll Free number listed on the site has been disconnected, they are no longer listed with OnlineBBB (and have apparently moved from CA to FL). Other red flags keep popping up. Not to mention Apple controls the price too much for it to be available that cheap. Best price you can get right now is probably Amazon with their $100 off and free shipping.

Re: Beware of the site

I would think it's a scam of some sort, whether they're scamming the customer or Apple; it's hard to tell.

Apple does give discount to students and teachers as well as employees but it's limited.
