Tiny purple fishes
run laughing through your fingers
(And you want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter)
I don't know why. I haven't heard that song in ages. Wait-- I probably heard it the other night, when Paul was playing bits and pieces of Crossroads. Nevermind!
Tonight I go see Nickel Creek. The only reason I know about them is because I recently researched mandolinists and discovered that Chris Thile is some sort of wonderkind. I've got a first row orchestra seat**! I'm pretty psyched. I don't have any of their albums, but what I've heard, I've really really liked.
I'm really loving this, from their first album (I think):
Ode to a Butterfly
Their opening act is apparently the Ditty Bops. I only discovered them this morning, but I'm liking them LOTS and looking forward to seeing them, too.
Now, where to have dinner for this date with myself? I'm thinking the fancy-schmancy Italian place down the street. Checkbook be damned. I'm going in jeans and sandals, too, to solidfy my new bluesgrassiness in town.
Gotta run! Later, gators!
