This is a story about a girl named Lucky...
So, last night was my final improv show with this troupe.*

So very bittersweet.

I drank one too many** margaritas before the show, and suspect I didn't do as well as I could have. I had a good time, though.

I was in every exercise. The games seemed short, though, and I know we didn't do as many as we had planned. Where did the time go?***

They started the show with a tribute to me, which the audience didn't understand (too many inside jokes), but nearly made me cry. Joanna and Janet did it Hee-Haw style, inserting banter about me between choruses of "I searched the whole world over and thought I found true love, she met another and *pfft* she was gone!"

We usually close with a game called "Pop Up," during which our Fearless Leader speak/sings a Beatles song chosen by the audience, and a cast member performs an interpretive dance while the rest of us pop in with little comments about the song, the dance, the weather, whatever. It's one of my favourite bits.

Last night, we did "I Think I Love You." (The Partridge Family tune.) What's more, four old troupe members were invited up to join in.

I am the luckiest girl in the world :)

At rehearsal earlier this week, Fearless Leader gave me a belated birthday present of a glow-in-the-dark computer angel (wind it up and the wings move!) and an Anne Bonny action figure :D

FL's GF gave me a beautifully framed montage photograph of myself. Awww!

And Kristin gave me kisses, a book on Wicca, another book on being a Goddess, and Mystic the Rainbow-maned Unicorn.

I am the luckiest girl in the world :)

I discovered the secret to quick and painless sheetrocking today.

My secret? "Call men-friends."

Today, Michele, Ken, Joanna and Dan came over, and Dan and Ken sheetrocked while M, J and I hung out and chatted.

If I'd known it were this easy, I'd have done it years ago!**** :P

We all ate pizza and had a couple beers. I gave Joanna and Dan my lovely never-used cedar birdfeeder and a bigass bucket o' birdseed.

I got a lot of hugs, and having that drywall up is a weight off my shoulders.

I am the luckiest girl in the world :)

Paul just texted me from a limo in San Francisco. Lucky dawg! Why aren't I with him?

Oh, yeah. No money, and I've still got a lot to do on the house.

And I somehow managed to do something very nasty to my back yesterday.

OK, so not everything's perfect.

I'm still the luckiest girl in the world :)

And luckier still to know the lot of you.

Hope you are all well and happy and pursuing your blissesseseses :)

* Well, until I come back up to visit on the second saturday of some month, anyway.
** Three Inca Gold margaritas is evidently "one too many."
*** It seemed an apt question on a lot of levels.
**** Not true; I have a very hard time asking for help with ANYTHING. This was no different.
******** My little asterisk habit has gotten out of control.

I'm feeling all kinds of: lucky
What I hear: Lucky, in my head, as performed at the NJLJBASH last year, complete with Obscene Abby Gymnastics

Bah! Silly woman. I consider myself extremely lucky to know you. To be welcomed into your home for a weekend of fun and frivolity [waaay back in '02... [sounds funny saying it like that, doesn't it? hehe]], it meant a lot to me.***************

***************And I know of nobody who has such silly and out of control asteriskseses as you do. Don't change a thing ;)

Shee-trock? What's a shee-trock?

Yeah, I read it "shee-trocking" instead of "sheet-rocking."
