Random photo - birthday dragonfly

The other is as though everything is a miracle."

photo of dragonfly

This dragonfly visited me on my birthday.

I call him a dragonfly, but truth be told, I'm not sure what he is. His head moved in a most bizarre fashion, and he seemed to be paying attention to Paul and me as we gazed at him.

I call him a him, but I'm not sure about that, either.

Whatever it was, it would fly about our heads, then land on that same branch, over and over again.

Many hours later, I went back outside. As I glanced at the branch where he had been earlier, he flew into view and landed on the clothesline just above the branch. Moments later, he was gone.

It was one of the best birthday presence I've ever received.

Apologies for the slightly larger size; 400x300 didn't do him justice.

I'm feeling all kinds of: Inspired

Thanks, sweetness :)

I love dragonflies, too! This one's head was so huge, though... and it moved independently of its body! It was just bizarre beyond words!

I'm with Bre. :D

His pointy butt looks like it wants to be a stinger.

Did I miss your birthday? Or did I say Happy Birthday? My brain is on overload lately. :/ I'll give you a HAPPY BIRHTDAY!! anyway.

I don't remember whether you did or not, so you did! Thank you again! :D

If you think the dragonfly's butt is scary, you should have seen its mouth. IT WAS HUGE.

GRRROWWWLF! HE ET ME!

Native Americans believe that dragonflies are sent by your ancestries to check on you.
The totem represents changes in life.

Paul and I are trying to figure out which one of our mothers it was :)

I thought it a particularly auspicious visitation for a birthday, especially with all the changes taking place in my world :)
