You are in a maze of twisty black plastic passages, all alike

the_monstrosity was amazing. I worship at the alter of Wes and Steph (and too many other names to list here).

Colour me seriously impressed. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing that with me.

And long live the Vortex!

I didn't get to stay long, or party much, but I had such a great time. Despite the fact that P was too ill to join me.

In fact, P is still sick and still in Huntsville :( Hopefully, he'll make it to his conference in Baltimore tomorrow.

So wonderful to see old friends, and make a few new ones. Wishing I got to hang out with people a bit more. Next year :)

I miss you all already.

Dear ldy-- text messages will be delivered to your phone showing YOUR time, which happens to be NEW YORK time, in addition to your local time, you stupid New Yawker, you.

Let me take a quick moment to thank you, Otis, the Hilton Shuttle Driver, for being willing to drive me to the airport spur of the moment for the heck of it on a slow shuttle day. I hope you get to visit the Botanical Gardens again sometime soon, now that you believe that you are better equipped to appreciate it. May your days be brisk and interesting.

I already miss my burgeoning Southern accent. It'th even thexier wiff teef in.

I will not let my horrific grit experience or my dangerous Southern salad woes steer me away from Southern food in future. Someday, I may tell you about room service at the Hilton, the multiple phone calls, the three hour wait, the forays into random voicemails, the amazing disappearing and reappearing (one day later) breakfast order and the gluttony for punishment. Someday. The wounds are too fresh. Friends don't let friends dial 622. Or any of those darned extensions.

Mind you, the food, when it did arrive, was really quite good.

Save for the grits. Let us never mention the grits again.

My cat is very happy to see me.

And I just helped M buy a book from her childhood. Bloody thing cost $70! Nutty.

And I hear that Z had his guitar signed by Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen over the weekend. Joe gets top billing because he was the nicest, and Yngwie gets last because he (or his roadie) signed it behind closed doors. *sigh* Guess who needs a new guitar now :P

Five days from now, I'll finally get to see the boy play out.

My writing in this journal has gone from semi-interesting and informational to blahblahblah. Need to change that.

My presence here will be erratic at best this week, and nonexistent next weekend. I will try to post pictures at some unspecified point in future.

No way I'll be able to catch back up with the lot of you. Hope you all had a fantabulous weekend, and have a week of adventures for me, K?

I have rehearsal tomorrow, a "take-back-the-karaoke" birthday party on Tuesday, and heavenknowswhat on Wednesday.

Oh, and that work thing. Keeps cutting into my day, that does.

I miss you, both those of you I've had the pleasure to see in meatspace (hm, meetspace?), and those whose pixils I didn't get to immerse myself in online while I was away meetspacing this weekend. I'm blessed to know each and every one of you.

The complexity and absurdity of what could have been such a freaking SIMPLE sentence tells me it's time for bed.

Nightnight, LJ. :)

Hugs to those who need 'em, those who want 'em, and those who don't run away quickly enough
