I just told the Poet to give it to The Boy, because he thought it was cool.
Colour me a wee bit frightened at my Almostnotquiteatallwickedstepmomish behaviour.
The one thing The Poet bought? A print of Aucassin and Nicollette by Marianne Stokes, because it looks like us. It does, too.
We didn't know it was called Aucassin and Nicollette. It said "untitled" on the poster.
A bit of research reveals the story of Aucassin and Nicolette to be a good one. A thirteenth century chantefable, it was one of the first mediaeval French love stories (if not the first) to have a happy ending. It's like a double hero quest, because both of them had adventures. The story even includes pirates. Seriously.
How perfect is that?
I see him and The Boy again in two and a half weeks. Why does that seem so long?
I hope to catch up with comments tomorrow sometime.
Goodnight, moon :)
