I wasn't hungry at lunch, so I bought a wonderful skirt for $15, and $70 worth of liquor instead.

Nearly three full days of nonsmokingness down (no, the quickly-crushed clove doesn't count - *GAK*).

I am a nonsmoker. I'm not using food or anything else as a replacement. Smoke and smoking just don't appeal.

I don't think about it at all now, though I'd thought about it every day-- every hour-- for over twenty years.

Somehow, my entire mindset has shifted.

I'm not complainin', mindja!

It's cool having so much energy and both hands free to do stuff all the time :)

And-- woohoo!-- I've already saved more than $20!

That rationalizes the skirt and liquor right there! ;)

I'm feeling all kinds of: xanaduish

I won't ask how You knew I walked :)

I celebrated by making THE WORST MIXED DRINK IN THE WORLD. It was so disgusting, that it put me off drinking the rest of the night. :P

Re:

Wow. Good for you girl!!!!!

I'm so relieved to be beyond the point now where I'm looking for things to make me feel better about not smoking.

At first every day was like "wow!!! ANOTHER DAY!!!" and then I'd have moments where deep down inside, all I'm thinking is "smoke smoke smoke smoke", but not letting myself. And then it would pass.

Now I feel ok, and the days are smoothly slipping by, and I go to bed feeling neither panicked nor overly accomplished for one particular day.

:) I'm SO looking forward to seeing you.

Keep up the great work. treat yourself to a new perfume. That's what I did. :)

A new perfume! What a GREAT idea! Thanks, sweetie!

I've always had a strong sense of smell (um, that sounded wrong :P), and now that I've quit, I have an even stronger sense. It's a little distracting sometimes, but I revel in it. A new perfume will be appreciated now more than ever :)

And I can't wait to see you! And Shary, too! I'm so glad she was able to move up her visit to include the weekend I'll be up :D

And I'm really proud of you for keeping clean (pfft, that one last week didn't count) during this very difficult time. You rock, and are providing a great example to me. Thanks! *HUGS!*

Re: Way to go!

I'm curious. Would you mind telling me about the very first time you smoked a nicotine cigarette? Was it immediately pleasurable?

Re: Way to go!

I can't remember. I was a child. And I had always been around second-hand smoke, and probably had quite a bit in the womb as well.

So, I couldn't really say.

I do remember that buying my first pack at 14 was quite a rush, though! :P

I'm really glad the nonsmoking is working out. It was always like a dagger through my heart whenever you'd go away on AIM to smoke.

Skirts and liquor are so much better.

As mamma always said, there are few troubles in this world that new skirts and liquor can't fix.
