Tides have undertows

OK, so hospice cat has gone missing since yesterday (which means he's probably dead, since he hasn't has his subcutaneous water) and I've had a 102 degree fever since about the same time. Managed to make it through work today, but now I'm heading to bed.

Paul gets catdaddy points for going door-to-door and then grabbing a crowbar and physically going into the stormdrains on our street (kinda wish I had gotten to see what was down there, myself... "Master Splinter? Is that you?!"). Things might be bad with us, but I know he loves Mr. Max. Heck, everyone does. I thought our vet was going to cry when we broke the news to him today.

My life is weird. I'm hoping Max just went off to end things on his own terms, and isn't somewhere hurting or lost.

Think good thoughts his way, k? He's been my bestest buddy for fifteen years I hope I haven't come all this way with him only to fail him in his final hours.

And thank you for the lovely comments on the last entry. I will address them when I am feeling considerably more lively.

~Hugs to those who need 'em, those who want 'em, and those who don't run away quickly enough~
