Again, of all the ingredients, the most notable is sodium-- it gives you 660mg, 28% of your daily value.* In comparison to other frozen meals, it rates a bit above average on the salt scale. Probably fine for most people, but my body just doesn't like salt, for whatever reason. Weirdly enough, I don't actually have any problems with hypertension-- my blood pressure's always been unusually excellent-- I just don't like the way it tastes, or the way it makes me feel.
Protein is really high, which is to be somewhat expected from a South Beach Diet food.
Other ingredients seem really good. There are very few processed ingredients! Major kudos for keeping it simple.
On the downside, it's really not as pretty as the box.
Why they chose to use beige plastic trays is beyond me. They look so institutional! Even brown would be better. But what do I know-- I'm just some chick who eats 'em.
The chicken is very tasty. Nice and garlicky. The green beans are good, too-- not too soft, and the almonds are num. It amazes me how so many of these entrees can have more than one component, yet cook both perfectly at the same settings. Food science rocks.
I'd give this a solid four out of five. I can't bring myself to take a whole mark off for sodium, when the ingredient listing is so solidly good. And I can't take a full mark off for looks when it's pretty tasty.
