Tech help pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

Everything around me has been falling apart. We were supposed to put the new computer systems in last night, but the new video card I needed was shipped to the wrong address.

Now, to make things worse, one of the old computers has up and died.

The heatsink fan is failing to such a point that leaving the computer on for anything but a short amount of time results in BSOD.

I am currently unable to pull a heatsink fan from my butt.

SO, my question is this:

I have the new comps, and the HDD from the failing computer. Can't I just pop the old HDD into a new computer as the primary drive for the time being as a stopgap measure until I can get the new computers up and data migrated tonight? And is there anything I'll have to do at startup to get the new computer to recognize the new hardware? It's a Win2kPro box.

Any help would be appreciated. If I don't hear something soon, I'm just going to bloody well pop the thing in and try it.

Thanks kindly :)

EDIT: You guys are awesome :D I've decided it's not worth the hassle right now. We'll have new comps tonight, and someone's picking up a new heatsink fan, so the old comp will still be usable when all is said and done. I may just work from home this afternoon and begin drinking heavily. Thanks again :)
