peekaboo

My goodness, where do the days go?

Saturday, M and I went out to Austerlitz for The Monster Blowout, an annual party hosted by friends of ours. It was a rather small gathering this year, and the weather was crazy (going from sunny and mid-80s to rainy and cold-enough-to-see-your-breath in a matter of mere minutes) but M and I had a great time. We camped overnight in comfort, and drove home the next day. It was nice to break out the camping gear, if only for a night :)

Sunday, I just puttered around the house doing laundry and whatnot.

Yesterday, I was home sick with a headache and tummy bug. :( Feeling better today, though.

I don't think I mentioned it before, but the Thursday before last I went Swing dancing. I'd never done that before. It was fun :)

Jeez, what else have I done? Worked on the house, and that's about it. Been missing Paul and Zack like mad; this is the longest I've gone without seeing Paul, and it'll be quite awhile before that's remedied. I may not move 'til October, since Paul's going to be in Japan and Taiwan for half of September. Work's been extra-crazy, and I've been pushing myself just to keep my head above water. Oh, and I lost my keys. Let me know if you find 'em, k?

I never did get to paint the foyer ceiling Friday, so I'll be doing that tonight, (if my stomach doesn't complain too much). I may even forgo the power-roller and try doing it WITH a regular roller WITHOUT a splatter-guard, so this promises to be an exciting evening! :P

Oh, and btw, will someone please tell me Ly is OK? She's been in my thoughts lately, and I've no way to contact her. Thanks :)

Hugs to each and every one of you.

Later gators!

Tummy's not happy, but we're going to forge ahead anyway. Excelsior!*

9:20p ADDENDUM: ALL DONE, including the cleaning! As much as I love my power-roller, I will never, ever, ever, use it again to paint a ceiling. Tonight went much faster and far less painfully than when I primed-- even with cutting-in and cleanup, I'm done earlier than then, and my shins and back aren't killing me. Wheeeeeeeee! Thanks for joining me!

* Excelsior means "still higher," and it's the motto of NY. Fill in your own joke here.
** Excelsior is also wood shavings used as packing material.
*** Oh, and that thing on my head is just proof that I'm slowly morphing into a hospital employee of some sort.
