The media - party - gig - bookworm - house - something else entry.
You may not remember this, but last year, I begged you to consider fighting proposed FCC rules that would have allowed fewer corporations to control more of the media.
Moveon.org sent me a note telling me that yesterday, we won!
Thanks be to each one of you who made a difference :)

I went to xso's little brother's birthday party today. He (the little bro) is 30. I remember when he was still in high school.
It was a great party. We had tons of food (complete with seven-- count 'em, seven-- different birthday cakes), a parade around the block (complete with large balloon caterpillar) and a fire (complete with firemen and firetrucks).
Some things never change.

I remember when his other brother's and sister's children were mere glints in their parents' eyes. They're all not-so-little people now.
It was odd, being there again, seeing the whole family again. Even though xso and I broke up several years ago, I am still a part of his family, and always will be.
There is a certain comfort in that. :)

Z's playing a gig tonight. Actually, at the time of this writing, they're probably just finishing up Stairway to Heaven.
There is a certain comfort in that, too.
Won't be long 'til I'll be able to attend these things in person :)

WTF? I've had a web-based game of Bookworm on my desktop for a couple days now. I was poking at it while writing this entry. I just had a run of some killer six and seven letter words (and no burning letters), was at or around 200,000 points... and the game suddenly reset itself. What a bummer!!
Someday, I WILL finish a game of Bookworm. Someday. Dammit.

I've so much to do with the house. I had a full-blown migraine last night, and didn't get much done (not much beyond kneeling in front of the toilet anyway).
I was going to sheetrock (plasterboard) today, but that was before being reminded about the party.
Before we left for the party, Michele helped me hang the rosin-paper template I created (it's an oddly-shaped space, under a stairway). Even that was difficult (the one piece was 92" long and 48" high). I definitely need to find some strong folk to help with the actual sheetrocking. If not, I'll just have to deal with using more than two pieces to finish the space.
I may call in a favour from my friend Karl. Or is it Carl? I always forget. He looks like a Karl. KCarl sheetrocks.
Xso's brother in law is going to do the tub caulking for me. Thank heavens for that! He remodels bathrooms for a living :)
I wonder if he'll ask me to join the Christian wall against the Illuminati.

What else, what else? There was something I wanted to tell you... what was it?
No clue. I hope it wasn't important. It would stink if I wrote down all this earth-shattering news, and forgot something important.
Hope you are all well and happy and pursuing your blisseseses :)
