May 2nd, 2003

may I make my fond excuses for the lateness of the hour

I took Beltane (today) off as a back-to-nature gardening day, catching-up-on-things day and general sanity day.

Rain was forecasted. I was bummed.

Got up today-- it was beautiful! Just a perfect day!

I raked for half an hour and was sicker than a dog.

So, I got nothing accomplished today. Not even relaxation.

In other news, I'm now bugging verizon with my little email problem. They're very helpful. I've been waiting an hour anna half to chat with a tech.

Charlie called about the Bible, gardening, daydreams during stories and Apocolypse Now. They're all related. Brain hurts.

I missed out on an auction for perfect dining room chairs because I was too sick to mentally justify spending that much money.

And I got my period. Which is always fun. (Forgive the TMI.)

It's just one of those days when I wish someone had snuck into my house in the middle of the night and slapped a "DO NOT get out of bed today" sticker on my pounding forehead.

I'd hoped for better this Beltane. *farawaylook*

But tomorrow is a better day! I've plans to see X-Men with Michele (and possibly Steve), and get to sleep at an early hour.

Then Saturday is shopping with Michele :) Furniture and clothes and home electronics, oh my!

Hope you all had a beautiful day, whether you celebrate Beltane, the National Day of Prayer, Thursdays in General, Something Else Entirely, or Nothing at All. And happy anniversary, keethrax and Mel!

And if you want to celebrate being a virtual vampire, do see my previous post.

I wonder where we'll all be next May... *farawaylook*

On that note, I'm off to Dreamland. Hugs to those who need 'em, those who want 'em, and those who don't run away quickly enough :)

She goes wa, wa, wa, wa, wa- waltzing with bears...

The Verizon tech finally got back to me... two and a half hours later. Guy didn't stray far from his scripts, and wasn't terribly helpful. I was up 'til 3:30am talking to him, and then to another guy (who was a little more helpful). I don't think it's an ISP issue, and it doesn't appear that they're blocking port 25, 2500 or 25000 (why didn't I ever think before to ftp to the mailserver to check?).

I'm tired, but not as tired as I'd expect to be after four hours' sleep.

Day is crazy. You want what when?! I don't think I'll get a lunch.

I have a zillion things to do, but right now, I'm daydreaming about ballroom dancing instead.* I think it's terribly sexy, but that's just me.

Back to the grind! Erm, make that "back to work" ;)

*brrrring-brrrring* Holy smokes, Michele just bought a house! I'm both happy and sad (but mostly happy for her) :D

Hope your Friday is splendiferous!

* Not dancing as a method of self-adjustment, guys.

Fridayfridayfriday I'm in love

I'm in hypermode. I've been multitasking, handling emergencies, rewriting and editing on the fly, crunching numbers, consulting without a net, sucking blood, troubleshooting email, juggling priorities, giving out my home phone number to a nervous doctor who needs advice and about a zillion other things all at once in the last couple hours.

Without lunch. Without sleep. Without pause.

Still smiling.

Hi :)
