No jokes

Damn. Those shirt sets are really ruined. Actually, the outer shirts are still lovely. But the tanks are... tanked.

Sad, that. They were really flattering. And I'm still determined to wear the sheer outer shirt.

What to do, what to do. Buy a nice black tank top in Toronto, and figure out something else for Friday night. Easy 'nuff.

The luggage, however, is another matter.

Carryon. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Ha! Oh, whatever was I thinking?

That thought was beyond optimistic. It was downright deranged.

For some reason, I'm still determined to try it. But only because my other option is the No Joke luggage.

I could fit into the No Joke luggage. Heck, I could probably sublet a small apartment in it. It's No Joke.

Now, where did my nail clipper go? Where did any of my nail clippers go? I'm typing with talons here. No clippers, anywhere, no joke.

My life is too funny right now. If I even make it up north this weekend, it'll be a miracle.

I'm all about the optimism, though ;) Miracles happen every second of every day.

When Black Friday comes
I'll fly up to Toronto
Gonna hug some Canadians
And get drunk, pronto
Gonna do just what I please
Gonna wear no socks and shoes
With nothing to do but feed
All the kangaroos
When Black Friday comes I'll be on that hill
You know I will

I wish you a year of inspiring poetry, beautiful thoughts and delight in many things. May you find what you seek, and continue being more you each day.

I wish you a year of great friends, good times and inspiration. May you find your perfect job, and revel in it.

Good night, moon.

Semagic rocks. And when I just experimentally clicked "quick link" right now, it automagically pasted my clipboard as the link. Which is intuitively what I wanted it to do. The more I look at this thing, the more impressed I become.

Holy Cow, I think she's gonna make it

I am the packing queeeeeeen!

(I'm not done yet, but it's lookin' good, sleeping bag and all... carrion carryon never looked so good stuffed)

Crazy day. Wasn't in the best of moods. Quite harried, really. Worked 'til 6:30 (I'm supposed to be out by 5, but it rarely happens). Somewhere in there, I realized that a friend of mine was getting married next weekend, and I'd promised to do her wedding programmes. Whoops! Got that done rather quickly and sent them over to her local Kinko's-- she loves 'em, so I'm happy.

Then I got my hair cut, and my eyebrows ripped forcefully from my face. I always feel weird after getting my hair cut, especially when I look at the bangs. I always see that little kid who decided to cut her own bangs one day (if you ever did that as a kid, you probably know what I mean).

From there, it was off to the store for a couple of things (nailclipper, kitty litter and stockings-- I'm such a freak). Then home.

Been on the phone most of the time since. Friend who's getting married called, so I had to catch up with her. E called, and we chatted for awhile about the fate of the improv group (it's dead, Jim). Seems Jack is history, and Janet's moving back to Iowa. It's a sad situation. Then I had to call M, because it's her birthday. Of course, we had to chat at length, too.

For someone who says she never talks on the phone, I sure do talk on the phone a lot.

Then I packed (thank heavens for lists). I found a black tank top I've had since high school. It still fits, and while not beautiful, should work with that shirt for Toronto.

Just finished cutting those damned nails (with my brand spankin' new nailclipper... I'm rather surprised the three awol clippers didn't turn up as soon as I walked into the house with it).

Eventually, I will eat dinner (or not). And finish packing (most definitely).

But right now I'm just enjoying smoking a cig, drinking Newcastle from a can and catching up with the lot of you.

Never forget the simple pleasures.
