blinkenOh, it's nearly impossible to stay too sad in this place for too long :)

I know not everyone here celebrates Christmas, but I hope those that do are lifted by its true spirit, and all of you, regardless of religion, know that I think you really sparkle.

I am truly blessed to have found this place and to have met you all...

Peace, Love and Hugs :)

Apologies for interrupting your festivities, but
Billy Barty
(a.k.a. William John Bertanzetti/Guillermo Guiseppi Bertanzetti)
passed away on Saturday.
He was 76.

Thought some of you might wish to note his passing.

"The world lost a giant and a hero in the passing of Billy Barty,"
--Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich,
(who chose Barty to be his son's godfather).

I couldn't have said it better myself.

"Billy is somebody who has given his whole life to the film industry and the entertainment industry ...
and has always been a gigantic, tremendous personality and star to me, and always will be,"

--Mickey Rooney

He appeared in more films and television shows than I can list here...
but I remember him especially from
the Krofft television shows "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters," "The Bugaloos," "Dr. Shrinker," and "H.R. Pufnstuf"
and the movies "Under the Rainbow," "Legend," and, of course, as the High Aldwin in "Willow,"

-----
The High Aldwin: [throws an apple into the air which turns into a bird] Go in the direction the bird is flying!
Burgelcutt: He's going back to village!
The High Aldwin: Ignore the bird. Follow the river.
-----

Bye Billy... you will be so very missed.

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled festivities, already in progress.
