Happy Thanksgiving :) - Ldy, the lemony, ligerish ducttaparian's Magic Treehouse of Lost Thoughts
A classy broad's life... with footnotes.
Happy Thanksgiving :)
Sorry I haven't been 'round much, folks! Things are good. I got cast in another play (Mrs. Bradman in Blithe Spirit), have been asked to consider playing the role of Honey in a "casual" production Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and have been invited to AD for big musical production at the community theatre next year (assuming the director's submission gets accepted). This on top of Oliver (in production right now) and the "casual" ensemble musical production of The Wizard of Oz that will be going up in February.

I'm now strongly considering going back to school. The dilemma? Choosing between a BFA in acting and a BS in engineering. I think I might have to go with the acting, considering how much I love it.

Anywho, I just wanted to take a moment to wish you and yours the happiest of Thanksgivings. I'm cooking a few things (two pies, homemade cran sauce, sweet cornbread stuffing, gravy and green bean casserole) and we're all heading to a friends' house tomorrow.

I know I'm especially thankful for each and every one of my friends here, even if I seem distant of late.

Much love to you :) Wishing you a safe and happy tomorrow!

~Hugs to those who want 'em, those who need 'em, and those who don't run away quickly enough~

I'm feeling all kinds of: calm calm

And YAY for lots of theatre opportunities! *g*

Rhonda's proposing Jane Eyre... though she did make mention of Anything Goes and a third possibility as well. I'm hoping it's Jane Eyre; there's no roles for me in that one *g*

In other hearsay, I think Jerry's proposing Loot (fingers crossed for getting that past the board, but I don't have high hopes), Erin's looking for a musical to submit, and I think Dan Christophy's submitting Ragtime and Into the Woods (everyone's screaming for the second, I think).

Thanks for the congrats! It's a small role, but requires subtle and precise comic timing. And yay for opportunities, yay! When will we get to perform together again? I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssssss yoooooooooooouuuuuuu!

I vote for Jane Eyre! I LOVE that musical!

I'd also love to do Ragtime or Into the Woods. I've never heard of "Loot."

I want to perform together again too! I miss you too!

From wiki:
Loot follows the fortunes of two young thieves, Hal and Dennis. Together they rob the bank next to the funeral parlour where Dennis works and return to Hal's home to hide the money. Hal's mother has just died and the money is hidden in her coffin while her body keeps on appearing around the house. Upon the arrival of Inspector Truscott the plot turns topsy turvy as Hal and Dennis try to keep him off their trail. Messing with the conventions of popular farce, Orton creates a hectic world and examines English attitudes and perceptions in the mid twentienth century. Loot has been described as a "masterpiece of black farce."

I'm not familiar with Jane Eyre the musical, though I think I read the book a million years ago, and I heard some of the music in the dressing room the other night... the songs are so beautiful!

Now I really selfishly want "Jane Eyre" as opposed to "Loot." Sounds like there aren't many female roles in Loot except maybe as the body of a dead mother.

I have the soundtrack to Jane Eyre if you want me to burn you a copy. There are LOTS of roles for women in that one! And a wide variety of ages as well! (And I'm not just saying that because Jane Eyre was one of my favorite books as a little girl. *g*)

Love and hugs back to you too. Hope you enjoy your feast. Right now, I hear my InquisitiveLove downstairs talking with her mom, as the scent of turkey, veggie, etc are wafering throughout the house (driving Bodhi the dog insanely happy).

Acting or engineering, what an interesting choice to make. What type of engineering would you focus in, if you did want to go into that field?

Mechanical, I think. I've always quite enjoyed physics and math.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! :)
